Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking a Senior Estates Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high-value capital investment projects across its estate, including schools, libraries, leisure centres and offices. You will work within the Asset Management Team to deliver projects from concept to completion with a focus on sustainability.

  • Significant experience within Estates, Facilities Management or built environment.
  • Experience leading, managing or supervising teams including development and resource planning.
  • A proven track record delivering complex property projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong project management skills covering scope, cost, programme, quality and risk.
  • Experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
  • The ability to drive project delivery and outcomes.

About The Role

Working Hours: 35 Hours Per Week


Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Additional Payments: Casual Car Allowance

Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

You'll help shape and deliver projects that support frontline services in schools, libraries, leisure centres, galleries, offices, depots and the Town Hall Complex. You'll also contribute to Manchester's ambition to become a zero-carbon city by helping deliver carbon reduction and sustainability projects across the Council's estate.

As a Senior Estates Project Manager, you'll be trusted to lead a diverse portfolio of complex capital projects from concept through to completion. Working as part of the Asset Management Team and Intelligent Client function, you'll help ensure investment decisions deliver the best outcomes for residents, service users and the organisation.


You'll join a collaborative team that is passionate about continuous improvement, service excellence and creating long-term value through the Council's property assets.


In this role you will:

About the Candidate
