North Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS trust require a highly motivated Senior Estates Officer who will be based in the Estates Department at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. The role involves playing a proactive part within the Estates & Capital Management team to meet Trust objectives in a safe, cost-effective, efficient manner, and in compliance with legislation and good practice. As Senior Estates Officer, you will report directly to the Senior Estates Manager. You will provide effective management and leadership support for the team of Estates Officers and other Estates & Capital Services staff in Estates Operational Maintenance, Additional Works, Capital Backlog, and Maintenance Services. You will be supported by performance management arrangements and encouraged to foster teamwork by providing diverse skills that support the Department's philosophy and flexible working. The post holder will receive training in necessary elements but should have Engineering skills and be capable of acquiring additional skills to support this flexibility safely and professionally. The post holder is expected to work across the Trust.
The post holder will have technical, managerial, and supervisory control over subordinate staff and specialist contractors. Responsibilities include managing data and information to ensure an economical, quality service, ensuring compliance with Trust standards, procedures, and legislation.
The role involves managing risk to maximize compliance with statutory and service requirements within available resources.
The post holder will be appointed as an Authorised Person in accordance with Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation.
Candidates should possess an Engineering-related HNC/HND or higher qualification.
The post requires participation in the Estates & Facilities Directorate emergency on-call rota.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and be committed to staff development and training.
Responsibilities include ensuring planned preventative and reactive maintenance by in-house staff and contractors complies with statutory regulations and legislation.
The post involves managing shutdowns for major and complex minor capital schemes, acting as an Authorised Person for specialist services as required per HTM guidelines.
