Job description

North Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust require a highly motivated Senior Estates Officer who will be based in the Estates Department at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. The role involves playing a proactive part within the Estates & Capital Management team to meet Trust objectives in a safe, cost-effective, efficient manner, and in compliance with legislation and good practices.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide effective management and leadership support for the team of Estates Officers and other Estates & Capital Services staff in Estates Operational Maintenance, Additional Works, Capital Backlog, and Maintenance Services.
  2. Manage data and information to ensure an economic, quality service, ensuring compliance with Trust standards, procedures, and legislation.
  3. Manage risk to maximise compliance with statutory and service requirements within available resources.
  4. Participate in the Estates & Facilities Directorate emergency on-call rota.
  5. Ensure planned preventative and reactive maintenance work is undertaken by in-house maintenance staff and specialist contractors, complying with statutory regulations and legislation.
  6. Manage and arrange shutdowns for major and minor capital schemes, acting as Authorised Person for specialist services as required in line with HTM.
  7. Have technical, managerial, and supervisory control over staff and contractors.
  8. Work across the Trust to support departmental development, training, and staff development.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Engineering related HNC/HND or higher qualification.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff effectively.
  • Ability to manage data, risk, and compliance effectively.
  • Participation in the emergency on-call rota.
Additional Information

The post holder will have technical, managerial, and supervisory control over subordinate staff and specialist contractors. They will be appointed to Authorised Person roles as per HTM and H&S documentation. The role involves working across the Trust and managing complex shutdowns for capital projects.
