Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Estates and Capital Development Lead to oversee all capital and minor works schemes, space planning, land and property matters. The role involves providing senior leadership and expert advice across the organisation to drive sustainable improvements in patient care.

You will work with clinical and non-clinical leaders, ensuring the estate remains safe, compliant and future-proofed to support outstanding care.

Qualifications

• Masters or postgraduate degree in project management or construction industry
• Managerial and senior experience on projects
• In depth knowledge of managerial, H&S and financial aspects of Capital Management
• Membership of recognised professional institution relevant to the role such as RICS, RIBA, APM, CIBSE, etc.
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Motivated and capable of motivating others
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
• Previous knowledge of the NHS
• Health and Safety training and qualifications e.g NEBOSH certificate and/or construction safety
• Experience with PRINCE2 or MSP methodologies
• Understanding of partnership working

Responsibilities

• Lead the estate and capital development agenda at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
• Oversee and manage delivery of all capital and minor works schemes and space management within the organisation
• Provide senior leadership and technical advice across the organisation for Estate Development
• Develop key relationships with clinical and non-clinical team leaders
• Bring energy, passion and creativity to improve services in a clear and sustainable manner
