Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking a senior key worker to co-ordinate Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) provisions for a caseload of young people with SEND in Bradford. The role includes line management of a small EOTAS team and acting as the key worker for families.

You will work with casework officers and external partners to ensure EHC plans are implemented and progress is made, while supporting future education planning and annual reviews.

• Co-ordinate day-to-day education provision for a caseload of young people receiving education through EOTAS, in line with their EHC plans
• Line manage and supervise a small team of EOTAS key workers, giving advice and oversight of their work
• Act as key worker, providing pastoral oversight of education provision and addressing barriers to attendance
• Engage with each young person and their family on a weekly basis
• Work with education, therapeutic and other external partners so that education is accessed and makes progress
• Oversee the interventions set out in each young person's EHC plan
• Support young people to plan for the future, including return to education settings and adult life
• Take part in regular reviews of learning and progress, including the annual EHC plan review
• Record progress against EHC plan outcomes accurately
• Work with casework officers in the SEND Integrated Assessment and Review Team to deliver the EOTAS package
• Build positive working relationships with each young person and their family

Job description

This senior key worker post sits in Bradford Council's Complex and Vulnerable Team, supporting children and young people with SEND who cannot attend any school setting. The work is to co-ordinate their Education Other than at School packages in line with their EHC plans, while acting as key worker for each young person and their family.
