Job summary

Chubb's UKI Environmental Team in London seeks a Senior Underwriter to grow the portfolio with key brokers and clients while maintaining existing accounts.

The role covers underwriting, broker education, product development, producer management, and ensuring policy documentation aligns with company standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental, casualty, energy, or M&A transactional risks within insurance.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to work independently.
• Results-driven with external recognition in the field.
• ACII is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business or renewals according to underwriting guidelines, budget, and local business plan.
• Assist in broker education and promote Chubb environmental products through meetings, presentations, and training sessions.
• Assist in product development to improve client retention and new business across Europe and globally.
• Represent and promote Chubb to brokers, internal and external clients, and maximise cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet company standards for policy documentation, quoting timeframes, and compliance.
• Maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and major clients, representing Chubb.

Senior Environmental Underwriter

Location: London

Job Summary

Chubb's UKI Environmental Team in London are seeking a Senior Underwriter to form a key part of the team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for growth of the portfolio with key brokers and clients, whilst maintaining and developing a portfolio of existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Goals: Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
• Broker Distribution and Development: Assist the team with education of brokers and promote awareness of Chubb’s Environmental insurance product through broker meetings, presentations and training sessions.
• Product Development: Assist in the development of products within the area of specialist expertise in order to improve client retention and new business. This may involve collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe as well as globally.
• Producer Management: Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients. This may involve servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities.
• Procedures: Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues.
• Chubb Representative: Represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and clients as well as major clients.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience in either the insurance industry within Environmental, Casualty, Energy or M&A Transactional Risks, or an alternative background in Environmental law or Environmental Consulting.
• Proficient and confident in delivering presentations.
• Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
• An experienced professional who is recognised externally.

Desirable:

• Expertise in negotiating and managing complex risks.
• Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the insurance market and competitors.
• Experience of dealing with brokers and clients.
• ACII preferred, though not essential.
