Job summary

Vickerstock, in partnership with a leading engineering and building services organisation, seeks a Senior Environmental Manager to lead environmental strategy across UK and Europe. You will own regulatory compliance, drive sustainability and carbon-reduction initiatives, and collaborate with senior leadership.

The role requires senior leadership experience, ISO 14001 expertise, and a focus on continuous improvement across multiple sites and projects.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Environmental Management or related discipline.
• Significant leadership experience in environmental management.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the organisation's environmental strategy across multiple operations and projects.
• Develop, maintain and continually improve the Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulatory requirements, permits and other obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain and develop environmental aspects and impacts registers and supporting documentation.
• Lead environmental audits, inspections and regulatory compliance programmes.
• Provide expert guidance on waste management, pollution prevention, resource efficiency, biodiversity and environmental risk.
• Develop and lead sustainability and carbon-reduction initiatives to support Net Zero objectives.
• Monitor environmental performance and analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead environmental improvement programmes and measurable progress against objectives and KPIs.
• Support ESG, carbon and sustainability reporting across the organisation.
• Work with project teams to embed environmental requirements in delivery.
