Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK. You will manage environmental inputs across rail, energy, infrastructure and development projects from feasibility through to delivery, coordinating with specialists and design teams.

You will lead EIA processes, advise clients, and help shape sustainability outcomes while advancing environmental performance and compliance across a broad project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA or similar.
• Chartered Environmental Status and Full membership of IEMA, or equivalent qualification with a professional body.
• Experience of EIA processes and working with limited supervision within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation.
• Demonstrable post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments on various projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.
• Collaborate with diverse environmental specialists and engineering teams to promote sustainable design.
• Lead delivery of environmental inputs into projects, including EIA screening, scoping, and Environmental Statements.
• Manage projects across technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety dimensions.
• Build relationships with clients and identify opportunities for resources, scheduling, and strategy development.
• Support business development through proposals and strategic bid preparation.
• Contribute to innovative techniques such as Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA initiatives.
• Inspire and upskill junior colleagues and promote a health, safety and wellbeing culture.
