Job Description:

Senior Environmental Advisor

Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Senior Environmental Advisor will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy, supporting Business Units to meet waste reduction, carbon reduction objectives, ISO14001 standards, and legal requirements across Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel and offers flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability compliance.
  • Support risk management through environmental assurance and audit programs.
  • Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
  • Maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports for clients and internal use.
  • Review environmental aspects and impacts regularly, including climate change risks.
  • Embed sustainable practices throughout project lifecycle stages, supporting Bid, Design, and Operational teams.
Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will have experience in a similar environmental and sustainability role within industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum qualification: PIEMA
  • ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
  • Proven experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice
  • Track record of reducing environmental impact across product lifecycle
  • Experience managing complex projects and change initiatives
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel UK-wide
