Job summary

Principal People is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a hybrid role across major infrastructure projects in Scotland. You will support environmental compliance, interact with operational teams, regulators and supply chain on live civils works, and contribute to HS&E strategy across the water framework.

The role offers a salary up to £50,000 plus a £5,000 car allowance, competitive benefits and ongoing CPD development within the utilities and infrastructure sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental science or a related field.
• IEMA membership or working towards would be advantageous.
• Experience in environmental role within construction, utilities or water sectors.
• Good understanding of environmental legislation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental compliance support across live infrastructure and construction projects.
• Support the implementation of the environmental and HS&E strategy across the framework.
• Work closely with operational teams to promote a positive environmental culture.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits and ISO 14001 reviews.
• Manage environmental risks and support mitigation measures across projects.
• Assist with waste management compliance and environmental performance monitoring.
• Liaise with regulators, authorities, clients and supply chain partners.
• Investigate environmental incidents and root causes with corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental training, awareness sessions and best practice guidance.
• Produce environmental reports and support continual improvement initiatives across the framework.
