Job Description: Senior Environmental Advisor

Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet waste reduction, carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO 14001, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves agile working with up to 50% UK-wide travel.

What you’ll do:

1. Provide specialist guidance and advice to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
2. Support risk management by establishing an environmental assurance regime, including risk-based audits, ensuring effective practices through inspections and audits.
3. Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bid responses.
4. Help develop and maintain performance data, including carbon management reports for customer and contract requirements.
5. Ensure regular reviews of key environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks, are carried out to protect the business.
6. Support Bid, Design, and Operational Teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the Project Life Cycle.

Who you are:

You should have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum qualification: PIEMA
• ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
• Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
• Experience achieving tangible reductions in environmental impact through product lifecycle stages
• Experience managing complex technical and change/improvement projects
• Full driving license and flexibility for UK-wide travel
