Job summary

DNEG Animation is seeking an Experienced Environment Modeller to create high-end 3D environments and set pieces for animated projects. You will work closely with Production Designers, Layout, and Development Artists to translate designs into detailed, pipeline-friendly models.

Ideal candidates have production experience, a strong eye for form and proportion, and proficiency in Maya or ZBrush, with excellent communication within a large team.

Qualifications

• Experience working on high-level animated content.
• Production experience as an Environment Modeller.
• Degree in Computer Animation or relevant course.
• Strong communication skills when working as part of a large team & pipeline.
• Traditional sculpting techniques using Maya or ZBrush.
• Strong sense of form, scale and proportion.

Responsibilities

• Build complex 3D environments and set pieces by taking direction from the Production Designer and collaborating with Development Artists and the Layout Department.
• Convert designs into builds and models while maintaining aesthetic quality and performance.
• Anticipate and communicate model performance issues and ensure adherence to the Animation production pipeline protocols.
