Job summary

Cloud Imperium is seeking an expert IT Network Engineer to own and optimize our corporate network across Manchester, Austin, Frankfurt, and Montreal. You will manage switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, VPN, and inter-site connectivity to support high-throughput workflows and complex data transfers.

The role requires deep experience with BGP/OSPF routing, firewall ecosystems (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, Junos, Arista), and cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience in enterprise switching and routing.
• Strong knowledge of BGP and OSPF.
• Proficient with multiple firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, Junos, Arista).
• Broad baseline across Windows systems, identity and access, cloud, and endpoint.
• Experience with cloud networking across GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Experience designing and securing multi-site networks and moving large data between locations.
• Familiar with network automation and infrastructure as code (Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Own the corporate network across all sites: switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, VPN, and inter-site connectivity.
• Manage network performance for high-throughput workloads—large Perforce syncs, build artefact movement, and GPU workstation traffic.
• Design and maintain network segmentation and zero-trust-ish access in partnership with the Security function.
• Lead monitoring, capacity planning, and documentation to build a resilient network architecture.
• Manage vendors and circuits for ISPs and network hardware.
• Provide cross-coverage of the wider corporate IT estate and participate in an on-call rota for critical incidents.
