Job summary

Mattioli Woods is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define the group’s technical direction across multiple acquisitions. You will own the target architecture for the Group, shape multi-million-pound platform decisions and bring coherence to a landscape built through 7+ acquisitions.

This senior role requires hands-on leadership with engineers, technology partners and vendors to deliver architectural intent, embed standards, and communicate decisions to the CIO, ExCo and senior

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading architecture in acquisitions-led groups.
• Ability to balance long-term strategy with delivery credibility.
• Broad capability across business, application, data, infrastructure and AI.
• Experience in regulated financial services or similar environment.
• Understanding of modern AI architecture (APIs, agents, data access, security).
• Pragmatic, decisive approach delivering concrete results.

Responsibilities

• Define the single target enterprise architecture for the Group and a practical roadmap to rationalise a technology landscape created through 7+ acquisitions
• Shape major strategic technology decisions, including the future client portal, SIPP SaaS platform and the long-term future of core platforms such as Xplan
• Establish architectural patterns and integration standards that allow AI - including emerging agentic capabilities - to work safely with core systems, data and business workflows
• Define and embed pragmatic architecture principles, governance and technology standards adopted consistently across the Group
• Work hands-on with engineering teams, technology partners and strategic vendors to guide implementation and ensure delivery follows architectural intent
• Communicate complex technology choices clearly to the CIO, ExCo and senior business leaders, including supporting technology due diligence for future acquisitions
