Mattioli Woods Group is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define the target architecture for the Group and guide multi-million-pound platform decisions. This senior role requires credibility to work with engineers, technology teams and strategic vendors to deliver architectural outcomes aligned with business strategy.

You will own the architecture for a growing, acquisition-led wealth management group, with broad responsibility across business, data, integration and AI architecture,

Responsibilities

• Define the single target enterprise architecture for the Group and a practical roadmap to rationalise a technology landscape created through 7+ acquisitions.
• Shape major strategic technology decisions, including the future client portal, SIPP SaaS platform and long-term core platforms such as Xplan.
• Establish architectural patterns and integration standards that allow AI capabilities to work safely with core systems and data.
• Define and embed architecture principles, governance and technology standards adopted across the Group.
• Work hands-on with engineering teams, technology partners and strategic vendors to guide implementation and ensure delivery aligns with architectural intent.
• Communicate complex technology choices clearly to the CIO, ExCo and senior leaders, including supporting technology due diligence for acquisitions.

Mattioli Woods is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define the technical direction of a growing, acquisition-led wealth management group. This is a senior appointment with real strategic weight — you will own the target architecture for the Group, shape multi-million-pound platform decisions, and bring coherence to a technology landscape built across more than seven acquisitions. This is not a governance or advisory role. We are looking for someone who combines architectural vision with the credibility to work alongside engineers, technology teams and strategic vendors to see decisions through to delivery. What you'll be doing

• Define the single target enterprise architecture for the Group and a practical roadmap to rationalise a technology landscape created through 7+ acquisitions
• Shape major strategic technology decisions, including the future client portal, SIPP SaaS platform and the long-term future of core platforms such as Xplan
• Establish architectural patterns and integration standards that allow AI — including emerging agentic capabilities — to work safely with core systems, data and business workflows
• Define and embed pragmatic architecture principles, governance and technology standards adopted consistently across the Group
• Work hands-on with engineering teams, technology partners and strategic vendors to guide implementation and ensure delivery follows architectural intent
• Communicate complex technology choices clearly to the CIO, ExCo and senior business leaders, including supporting technology due diligence for future acquisitions

What we're looking for

• Proven experience leading meaningful architecture and simplification in a complex organisation, ideally one shaped by acquisitions
• The ability to combine long-term strategic direction with delivery credibility — equally comfortable setting a multi-year roadmap and getting into a platform or integration discussion when needed
• Strong capability across business, application, integration, data, infrastructure and AI architecture, with the breadth to make good decisions across each domain
• Experience in regulated financial services or another complex regulated environment; wealth management background is advantageous but not essentialSufficient understanding of modern AI architecture — including APIs, agents, data access, security and vendor landscape — to make sound enterprise architecture decisions
• A pragmatic, decisive approach: someone who simplifies rather than elaborates, makes clear recommendations and drives them through to completion
