Job summary

Spotify is seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee Engineering Managers and about 50 engineers in the IT Studio. You will shape engineering strategy, elevate technical practices, and align investments with business priorities.

You will lead managers across teams, drive reliability, security, and AI initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to solve meaningful technical problems at scale. Role is based in London or Stockholm with hybrid, flexible work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Led Engineering Managers across multiple teams.
• Experience with enterprise tech such as identity and access, SaaS platforms, endpoint management, workplace technology.
• Improved engineering practices across teams; balanced productivity with reliability.
• Developed Engineering Managers into stronger leaders.
• Experience applying AI tooling or related technologies.
• Focused on impact in performance conversations and collaboration across teams.
• Strategic thinker capable of directing large organisations while remaining close to the work.
• Clear communication of complex technical and strategic ideas; inclusive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Engineering Managers across multiple teams, supporting growth and ensuring outcomes and engineering excellence.
• Set and communicate engineering strategy across the studio with alignment to IT's mandate and Spotify's needs.
• Strengthen technical judgment within the Engineering Manager group and optimize processes for value.
• Identify patterns across teams and drive improvements in engineering practice and operational health.
• Establish and evolve engineering best practices across the studio and promote knowledge sharing.
• Champion reliability, security, compliance, and privacy as foundational to engineering decisions.
• Shape how AI is used across the company through tools and day-to-day work.
• Partner with studio, alliance leadership, procurement, legal, and other teams to drive thoughtful technical investments.
