Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead across multiple squads within a ~20-person structure. You will manage 2–3 Engineering Managers and senior engineers, while shaping technical direction and delivery outcomes across diverse teams.

You will partner with Product and engineering leaders, fostering engineering excellence and an inclusive culture that enables teams to deliver high-impact projects at pace. This role embraces scalable leadership and strategic influence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading 2–3 Engineering Managers and teams of ~20 engineers.
• Strong technical and delivery background with software engineering experience.
• Ability to partner with senior engineers, product managers and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple squads and grow new squads as needed.
• Ensure delivery outcomes and engineering excellence across teams.
• Coach and develop direct reports through regular 1:1s and feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, data, design and leadership.
