Job summary

Citi's Treasury and FP&A Technology group seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Loan Portfolio Mitigation Application (IRIS) in London. You will oversee a team of developers delivering a sophisticated credit risk hedge system spanning CDS, CLOs, and balance sheet hedging.

The role combines hands-on technical leadership with architecture decisions, agile delivery, and cross‑functional collaboration with traders, risk managers, and product teams to translate complex financial models

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in quantitative development or analysis within a financial institution.
• Strong leadership in senior roles.
• Hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Expert Python proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Proficient SQL and relational DB design (MS SQL Server or equivalent).
• Familiarity with loan portfolios, CDS, CLOs and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Strong Git-based source control for enterprise-scale environments.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers.
• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for software development.
• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, product managers and analytics teams.
• Ensure governance with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit and Finance.
• Promote engineering excellence, clean code, and scalable design.
• Direct integration of quantitative libraries into front-office systems.
• Drive research into AI applications in software engineering.
• Negotiate with senior leaders and external parties.
• Assess risk and ensure regulatory compliance and policy adherence.
