Job summary

GIP Ltd in the Midlands is seeking a Senior Geological Engineer / Senior Engineering Geologist to join our team in Kingswinford. The role combines site and office-based work delivering ground investigation and consultancy projects across varied geological settings.

Ideal candidate will have 5–6 years in ground investigation, be working towards or hold chartership, and will mentor junior staff while managing projects and contributing to client relationships within a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or closely related Earth science field.
• 5–6 years' experience in ground investigation or engineering geology.
• Chartership target or active pursuit preferred.
• Strong logging, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee ground investigations, including drilling programmes and sample analysis.
• Supervise site investigations and ensure quality of logs, records and reports.
• Manage projects and support engineers, geologists and contractors; provide quotations and proposals.
• Mentor junior staff and develop technical capability within the team.
