Job summary

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in London is seeking an Engineering & Construction Underwriter to manage a portfolio of UK construction risks, collaborating with brokers, clients, risk engineers and claims specialists to deliver tailored insurance solutions.

You will further develop your construction underwriting expertise while working on major projects across the UK construction sector, with a hybrid work arrangement and clear career progression within a leading global insurer.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction underwriting and risk assessment for CAR/EAR and related covers.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for underwriting decisions.
• Ability to negotiate terms and build relationships with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Construction All Risks (CAR), Erection All Risks (EAR), Delay in Start-Up (DSU) and related covers.
• Analyse project information, contractors, methods, schedules and risk controls.
• Negotiate policy terms, conditions and pricing with brokers and clients.
• Monitor project performance and support risk management initiatives.
• Collaborate with Risk Engineering and Claims to investigate losses and develop solutions.
• Manage policy amendments as projects evolve.
• Build strong relationships with brokers, contractors, project owners and other stakeholders.
