Job summary

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in London is seeking an experienced Engineering & Construction Underwriter to manage a portfolio of UK construction risks. You will work with brokers, clients, risk engineers, and claims specialists to deliver tailored insurance solutions.

The role offers technical development within a global insurer, a hybrid working model, and a salary range reflective of market levels for London-based construction underwriting.

Qualifications

• Experience within construction/engineering underwriting.
• Exposure to CAR, EAR, Property, or Specialty Lines of business.
• Strong analytical skills and sound underwriting judgement.
• Good understanding of UK construction projects and risk exposures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Construction All Risks (CAR), EAR, DSU and related covers.
• Analyse project information including contractors, methods, schedules and risk controls.
• Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients.
• Monitor project performance and support risk management initiatives.
• Collaborate with Risk Engineering and Claims to investigate losses and develop solutions.
• Manage policy amendments and coverage changes as projects evolve.
