Job summary

Samworth Brothers in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to own on-site engineering operations, maintenance, site services, and capital projects. You will report to the Site Director and lead a team including the Maintenance Manager and Project Engineer to deliver Manufacturing Excellence.

You'll drive asset reliability, safety, energy and environmental compliance, and continuous improvement while collaborating with the wider leadership team to support growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
• Create and deliver engineering strategies that support long-term business objectives.
• Drive improvements in asset reliability, maintenance performance, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and manage a rolling capital investment programme, including major engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, health & safety, environmental, and food safety requirements.
• Manage engineering budgets and identify opportunities to improve cost performance and profitability.
• Support sustainability initiatives through improved energy, water, and utility management.
