Job summary

AFI-Rentals, part of the AFI group of companies, is recruiting a Senior Engineer for our Peterborough depot. The role oversees a workshop team, ensuring servicing, LOLER inspections, and PDI are completed on schedule while coordinating with the hire office.

You will manage workloads, mentor engineers and maintain high service standards. The position requires hands-on maintenance experience, strong leadership, and the ability to work to targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Essential skills and leadership experience for workshop management.
• Strong fault finding/diagnostics capabilities in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day workshop operations and workloads for the engineering team.
• Plan and ensure availability and servicing of machines, including LOLER/PDI checks.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and inspections of powered access equipment.
• Mentor staff and maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues.
