Job Description:

This role involves leading the builders work in connection (BWIC) team at HS2 Old Oak Common Station for work package 23, focusing on the design and build of MEPHFC works for the Anthro Joint Venture (VVB Engineering and Egis). You will manage the BWIC team, coordinate with MEPHFC designers, client BBVS, and third-party work packages. Responsibilities include coordinating building services opening positions, managing fire stopping solutions, overseeing a federated model with clash detection, reviewing structural designs, facilitating meetings with stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the nominated Contractor’s Responsible Engineer Design (CRE-D) for Civil / Structural Engineering design.
  • Lead and prepare designs in accordance with HS2, Eurocodes, and relevant standards.
  • Review and manage civil / structural engineering drawings, reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering activities to ensure affordability, safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Manage resources, including junior engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Monitor projects for compliance with standards, specifications, and legislation.
  • Implement systems for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Support safety assessments and environmental policies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and interoperability regulations.
  • Share best practices and support team growth through recruitment and mentoring.

This position reports to Project Directors or Design Leads and may involve international projects for EGIS Transport Solutions or other subsidiaries.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in structural coordination of building services and proprietary systems.
  • Experience with design and build projects.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Lead engineer / CRE-D experience.
  • Professional Engineer Registration with the UK Engineering Council.
  • Degree in relevant subject (BEng/MEng).
  • Experience in UK consultancy, client, or contractor organizations.
  • Knowledge of Eurocode, HS2, Network Rail standards, and regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR).
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Strong engineering and problem-solving skills.
  • CITB CSCS scheme certification.
  • Valid UK driving license.
