Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer to generate Protection Engineering drawings and documents in line with design specifications, programme, budget and safety requirements.

You will produce detailed design packages, specifications and risk assessments, while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting tender activities. Field visits to UK sites and German factories are included as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/ Degree Qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience within the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry, including UK Transmission System experience.
• Conversant with the latest Transmission and Distribution standards & technologies applicable to Protection Engineering.
• Flexible approach to design solutions / Decision making skills.
• Positive working attitude, able to demonstrate self-motivation and a proactive approach.
• Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage, motivate and inspire others within the project secondary design team.
• Good customer focus skills.

• Maintain the design change control process on associated schemes
• Provide timely responses to non-conformances raised through the NCR+ process
• Coordinate with other departments in resolution of interdisciplinary issues
• Attend site meetings to discuss and advise construction staff on site related issues
• Attend Technical Meetings with Client, site or office based, to ensure Client satisfaction
• Gain product knowledge and site knowledge through visits to UK sites and German factories
• Provide tendering support when required
• Co-ordinate with Technology team by contributing on technical issues to facilitate Type Registration including design approval
