Job summary

Checkatrade is hiring for an experienced Salesforce Engineer to design, build and operate core cloud solutions across Sales/Service Cloud and integrations with external tools. You will own deployment pipelines, enforce code quality and work with distributed teams to maintain data integrity and scalable architectures.

You will collaborate with AI-assisted coding approaches to accelerate delivery while maintaining security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Solid Salesforce development across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and DevOps.
• Track record of clean, asynchronous Apex, responsive LWC components and complex Flows.
• Genuine handle on AI-driven coding: know how to give AI models architectural context and constraints.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise integration patterns (large data volumes, platform events, API error handling).
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, change management and environment refreshes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain solutions across Apex, LWC and declarative features, mainly in Sales and Service Cloud, plus Zuora, Retool, Braze CRM and Node/TypeScript services on Kubernetes on GCP.
• Use AI coding tools with confidence to move faster without cutting corners on quality.
• Architect secure, scalable integrations between Salesforce and our other core services, including inbound and outbound REST APIs and platform event-driven workflows.
• Work alongside distributed engineering and data teams to keep data flowing cleanly and the architecture cohesive.
• Own and improve the deployment pipelines across Salesforce and other services, so releases to production are smooth, automated and reliable.
• Champion code quality: write thorough tests, run solid code reviews and help others get the best out of AI-assisted development.

You'll sit in Enterprise Engineering, the team that owns our Salesforce org, the critical workflows inside it and the way Salesforce plugs into the rest of our stack. Salesforce is your home turf, but you're almost as happy wiring up TypeScript services beyond it. Do it well and our teams get systems that work together, so tradespeople and homeowners get a smoother experience.

The job, unfiltered:

The fit:

• Solid, hands-on professional software engineering experience, including strong Salesforce development across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Salesforce DevOps.

• A track record of clean, asynchronous Apex (triggers, batch, queueable), responsive LWC components and complex Flows, backed by solid engineering skills beyond the platform.

• A genuine handle on AI-driven coding: you know how to give AI models the right architectural context, schemas and constraints to get accurate, secure, production-ready code back.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise integration patterns (large data volumes, platform events, API error handling).

• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, change management and environment refreshes.
