Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design across major water and wastewater projects in the Northern Region. Based at a suitable location with flexible working, you will shape robust, buildable solutions that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with mechanical, EICA, civil, digital and commissioning teams, and develop process philosophies, calculations and design documentation to optimise whole-life

Qualifications

• Strong experience in process design within water or wastewater engineering.
• Understanding water treatment principles and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to produce process calculations, flow diagrams and technical reports.
• Experience in optioneering, feasibility, outline/detailed design or commissioning.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership.
• Full UK driving licence.

We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Senior Process Engineer based at a suitable location within our Northern Region, with flexible working available.Are you an experienced Senior Process Engineer ready to help shape the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater treatment projects? At MWH Treatment, our process engineers play a critical role in developing innovative, sustainable and efficient treatment solutions that help deliver safer, smarter and more resilient water services for our customers and communities.We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design activities across major projects, delivering robust, buildable solutions that meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and long-term performance objectives.Key Responsibilities:Lead process design tasks and packages to agreed technical standards, budgets and programmes.Develop process calculations, treatment philosophies, plant layouts and design documentation that support
efficient and reliable asset performance.Support optioneering, process selection, design development and technical decision-making across water and wastewater treatment schemes.Review and assure process design outputs within your area of authority.Coordinate process design with mechanical, EICA, civil, digital, hydraulic and commissioning teams to support integrated project delivery.Identify process risks, treatment performance requirements and opportunities for optimisation across design, construction, commissioning and operation.Mentor junior engineers, graduates and apprentices, sharing specialist process knowledge across the team.Build strong working relationships with clients, discipline leads, project teams, suppliers and site teams.Essential:Strong experience in process design within water, wastewater, process, utilities or a similarly regulated engineering environment.Good understanding of water and sewage treatment principles, including process selection, treatment performance and
regulatory requirements.Ability to produce and review process calculations, process flow diagrams, design philosophies, specifications and technical reports.Experience supporting optioneering, feasibility, outline design, detailed design, commissioning support or performance optimisation.Ability to produce practical, economic and buildable process solutions that consider whole-life cost, safety, carbon and operational performance.Experience leading, checking or mentoring engineers within a process or related engineering discipline.Membership of a professional institution, ideally Chartered or working towards Chartership.Relevant engineering qualification, ideally a process, chemical, environmental, civil or water engineering degree, or minimum HND in a relevant discipline.Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and commercially.Computer literacy and a full UK driving licence.Why join us?At MWH Treatment, process engineering is at the heart of how we design and
