Job summary

Greene Tweed is seeking an experienced design/engineering professional to interpret customer requirements and drive selection, design and delivery of GT materials and processes. You will work with customers, the commercial team and operations, providing technical leadership and independent execution with cross-functional influence.

Essential duties include providing technical assistance, leading design proposals, mentoring staff, recommending materials, and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education/Certifications: Bachelors of Science in Engineering or appropriate technical field.
• 6-10 years in engineering or design environment.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; FEA knowledge preferred.
• Lean 6 Sigma (Yellow Belt) preferred; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to customers, sales, manufacturing and quality; visit customer sites as needed.
• Lead design proposals and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
• Mentor less experienced engineers; supervise and train staff as needed.
• Recommend materials based on application criteria and internal guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for development and process improvements.
• Prepare and review drawings, testing plans, and reports for production.
• Organize technical meetings and present to broad audiences.
