Ebury in London is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer for the Payments Experience (PayE) team. You will help scale the main web application and build tooling enabling product teams to ship features efficiently. Your mission is to enable independent development across teams while maintaining a unified, high-quality customer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Strong frontend with TypeScript, React, Jest and Storybook.
• Experience with MFEs, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and AWS is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS or related field or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Feature Delivery & Platform Evolution: contribute to next-generation platform channels and products.
• Architecture & Design: collaborate on new services using RFC processes.
• End-to-End Ownership: own development, containerization, deployment, and maintenance.

Senior Fullstack Engineer – Payments Experience (PAYE)

Location: London (Hybrid: 4 days office / 1 day remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to play a crucial role in our Payments Experience (PayE) team. In this role, you will help scale our main web application and build the tooling and processes that empower Ebury's product teams to ship amazing features efficiently. Your mission is to enable independent development across teams while maintaining a unified, seamless, and high-quality experience for our customers.

You should be language and framework-agnostic, but possess strong opinions (weakly held) on using the right tool for the job.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Delivery & Platform Evolution: Contribute to the development of our next-generation platform channels. Partner on the delivery of new products while continuously maintaining and improving existing ones.

Architecture & Design: Collaborate with team members and engineering leaders to design new services and components utilizing our internal Request for Comments (RFC) process.

End-to-End Ownership: Embrace our "You build it, you own it" philosophy by taking full responsibility for the development, containerization, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of your services.

Observability & Quality: Ensure your code is reliable, highly testable, and well-covered by unit and integration tests. Integrate robust monitoring and alerting into your services.

Infrastructure as Code: Contribute to our CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for seamless service and infrastructure deployment.

Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.

About You

Technical Requirements:

Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of building high-performance, client-facing web applications.

Backend Stack: Proficient with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, and designing secure REST APIs.

Frontend Stack: Proficient with TypeScript, React, Jest, and Storybook. Experience with Micro Frontends (MFEs) is a major plus.

DevOps & Cloud: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.

Foundations: Strong understanding of system architecture, API design, scalable service integration, Linux systems, and Git version control.

Core Soft Skills:

Strong knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented/functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English for seamless international teamwork.

A relevant educational background (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field) or equivalent practical experience.
