Job summary

J Murphy & Sons Limited seeks a Senior Engineer to support Energy projects, focusing on Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone. The role emphasizes health, safety and environmental leadership across the project team and supply chain.

You will promote best practices, oversee temporary works and ensure clear, accurate drawings and method statements, while coordinating with foremen, designers and clients to maintain construction progress and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Knowledge of ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works.
• Good understanding of current civil engineering legislation and health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to discuss engineering issues with diverse teams.
• Ability to implement safe systems of work for construction procedures.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters with the SHQE department.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes.
• Maintain good working relations with client/designer/team and supply chain.
• Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques.
• Ensure drawings/specifications contain sufficient, accurate information for construction; request missing info promptly.
• Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure understanding of information.
• Oversee selection and requisition of materials and plant for construction.
• Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for control of works.
• Keep full daily site diary with changes/variations and subcontractor attendance.
• Ensure inspection and test plans are completed as required by PMP/Specification.
