Job summary

Babcock International is hiring a Senior Engineer - Hull and Systems Surveillance for HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. The role is hybrid with two days onsite per week and a 35-hour week.

You will oversee hull surveys, systems surveillance, and coordination across stakeholders to ensure timely maintenance and sea clearance decisions. The position requires a degree (or equivalent) in a STEM discipline, strong data analysis skills, and the ability to obtain SC/NNPPI clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering support, maintenance, inspection, surveillance or assurance activities.
• Experience analysing technical data and producing engineering reports or assessments.
• Experience with technical procedures, engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hull survey and systems surveillance activities to ensure inspections are completed on schedule.
• Track survey outputs, defects and actions through to closure and provide engineering support.
• Manage technical information and reports to support maintenance decisions.
• Maintain strong relationships with customer and internal stakeholders to meet contractual commitments.
• Potential line management responsibilities for junior team members.
