Job summary

WSP is seeking an enthusiastic Engineer/Senior Engineer – E&P – Fixed Plant to lead and support the Rail Engineering Services team on UK and international projects. You will oversee Fixed Plant designs, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients to deliver complex railway infrastructure solutions.

The role offers hybrid working with two days remote and opportunities across UK offices, plus development support and chartership pathways.

Qualifications

Experience in delivery of one or more areas of expertise.
Experience across the full project lifecycle from feasibility studies to detailed design.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams, balancing priorities and meeting client expectations.
Technical knowledge to challenge outputs and deliverables.
Chartered professional or working towards chartership with a relevant institution and mentoring track record.
Experience undertaking CRE roles or the competency to do so.
Understanding of client engineering assurance processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the Fixed Plant aspects within larger multi-disciplinary technical teams and support resolution of complex technical problems.
Oversee and coordinate the development of Fixed Plant designs across all stages of the design lifecycle.
Provide technical advice to internal disciplines and clients.
Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve desired project outcomes.
Potential to undertake CRE roles as required in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009.
Provide guidance, support and mentorship to Early Career Professionals.
