Job summary

Duco is hiring a Senior Engineer to join cross-functional, empowered teams owning parts of the product. You will shape architecture, code and AI-enabled pipelines, delivering scalable features across the tech stack and mentoring others.

You’ll work in a London-based HQ with global teams and a culture that values curiosity and technical leadership. As a senior, you will influence design choices, mentor peers, and drive high-quality code, testing and deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering and supporting resilient software that scales in a multi-language stack.
• Deep experience with Java and a web framework (Spring Boot or Rails).
• Strong automated testing skills and SQL knowledge at scale.
• Technical or team leadership experience with service-oriented architectures and containers (Kubernetes).
• Genuine interest in using AI to improve software engineering and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver features across the core product, spanning the technology stack.
• Own the full lifecycle: design, development, deployment and support.
• Lead spikes and cross-team technical design for multi-team work.
• Code review peers and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Tackle complex data manipulation and scaling challenges with a bright team.
• Mentor engineers and raise capability across the engineering function.
