Job summary

Kier Group plc. is hiring Senior Engineers across civil, structural and geotechnical disciplines to contribute to a broad portfolio of temporary works and major infrastructure projects across the UK. The role offers hybrid working with up to 1–2 days from home.

Join a 100+ strong team and work on exciting projects while pursuing professional accreditation toward IEng/CEng, with clear development and collaboration across design and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering.
• IEng status or working towards CEng with relevant experience.
• Experience in temporary works design and/or management.
• Strong organisational and communication skills in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of construction engineering services including temporary works design/checking and reviewing permanent designs.
• Support tendering, preconstruction planning and provide technical advice on construction-stage issues.
• Act as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing scope, programme and budget.
• Develop yourself and the wider team to improve processes and systems.

Job Description Senior Engineer We're looking for civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineers to join our team in various locations around the UK. Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth - agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired Hours: 40 hours per week - flexibility on hours available if desired Join us as a Senior Engineer and become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. Are you... Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering
principles and knowledge of applicable design standards? An Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with an equivalent level of experience? Do you... Enjoy applying first principles thinking to real-world construction challenges, combining a keen eye for detail with sound engineering judgement, a focus on safety, buildability, sustainability and a flair for innovation and creative problem-solving? Have experience of temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience? Leading the delivery of a broad range of construction engineering services, including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability,
supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects. Main responsibilities Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges.
