• Practical grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles.
• Strong knowledge of applicable design standards.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a broad range of complex construction engineering services including temporary works design and checking, review of permanent designs for buildability and compliance.
• Act as Project Lead for multiple complex projects, managing scope, programme, budget and relationships.
• Produce and review design outputs (calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports, risk assessments) ensuring CDM/SHE/QA compliance.
• Develop yourself and the team, improving processes and adapting to challenges.

Job Description Principal Engineer

We're looking for civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineers to join our team in various locations around the UK. Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth - agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired Hours: 40 hours per week - flexibility on hours available if desired Salary: Starting from £60k per annum Sector: Working across all sectors of the built environment Join us as a Principal Engineer and become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. you... Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards? A Chartered Engineer (CEng) or of equivalent experience? Do you... What will you be responsible for?

Main responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of a broad range of complex construction engineering services, including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent
  designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.
• Acting as Project Lead for multiple complex projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery
• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes
• Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges.
