Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group is seeking a Senior Engineer to work on civil engineering projects in the Southwest UK, initially on Crewkerne and Glastonbury sites. You will set out roads, structures, and drainage, manage quality control, and help produce permits for ground breaking as part of a major water and wastewater framework for 5+ years.

Qualifications

• Experience in setting out roads, structures and drainage using GPS and robotic total stations.
• Ability to assist with quality control to ensure design specifications are met.
• Experience producing permits to break ground and managing CAT scanning.

My client is a long established, leading Civil Engineering Contractor.

Due to planned growth and an influx of work in their Southwestern Region, they are looking to appoint, on a permanent basis or a long term contract basis (12 months+) a Senior Engineer to work on projects in the Southwest and initially on two projects in Crewkerne and Glastonbury.

Initially, you will be working on civil engineering projects predominantly in the water and wastewater sectors as part of a major framework for the next 5+ years.

My client would prefer someone on a permanent basis but would consider someone residing locally who would be seeking a long term contract.

Role & Duties

• Setting out roads, structures and drainage with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
• Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD.
