Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join the Basingstoke team. You will deliver highway design projects to the highest standards across feasibility through to detailed design, working within the highways sector.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Highways Engineering, chartered or working towards chartership, and a full driving licence. You will supervise colleagues, prepare drawings and estimates, and collaborate with other disciplines to deliver innovative maintenance

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil/Highways Engineering or Transportation.
• Chartered (CEng/IEng) or working towards chartership with ICE/CIHT/IHE.
• Full driving licence and CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Undertake feasibility, preliminary and detailed design of highway schemes to DMRB and local authority standards using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines in Common Data Environments and provide design support.
• Prepare fee estimates, programmes, tender and contract documents and oversee technical drawings and calculations.
• Maintain client and authority relationships and assist in supervising team members.

We're looking for a Senior Highways Engineer to join our Basingstoke team based in Basingstoke within the highways sector. As a Senior Highways Engineer, you'll be working within the Basingstoke team, supporting them in
delivering highway design projects to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join our highways design team where you'll be responsible for the development and preparation of concept, preliminary and detailed design of a range of highway and infrastructure projects. You'll play a key role in supporting the Team Leader in managing and supervising team members, whilst contributing to their professional development. This position offers the chance to work collaboratively across disciplines, delivering innovative solutions for highway maintenance and improvement schemes to current standards. Your day to day will include: Undertaking feasibility, preliminary and detailed design of highway maintenance and improvement schemes to DMRB and local authority standards using AutoCAD Working collaboratively with other design disciplines in Common Data Environments Providing design support to the highways design team and overseeing preparation of technical drawings, specifications and
