Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Engineer to work with Energy on GGP projects across the UK, from Norwich to Tilbury. You will establish best practice in health, safety and environmental matters and support temporary works design while coordinating with clients, designers and the project team.

You will oversee drawings, specifications and method statements, manage risk assessments, and lead the delivery of high-quality construction activities on EPC projects in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experience with ITPs, RAMs and Temporary Works.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering legislation and HSE/E environmental rules.
• Ability to discuss engineering issues with diverse teams.
• Ability to design and manage safe construction procedures.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters with SHQE department.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes.
• Maintain good working relations with client / designer / Team, together with our supply chain.
• Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques.
• Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
• Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant for the use in the construction process.
• Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works.
• Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including changes/variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / project team.
• Ensure that inspection and test plans are completed as required by the PMP / Specification, including a check of dimension accuracy and quality

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Engineer:

• Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes
