Job summary

JRL Group is recruiting a Senior Engineer with RC Frame experience for a major 46-storey project in Birmingham City Centre. You will lead a team of Site Engineers and coordinate materials, plant and quality inspections on a high-profile construction site.

Using Fieldview, Viewpoint and Topcon, you will interrogate drawings, issue RFIs and support the Project Manager and wider team. The role offers long-term work, competitive rates and progression opportunities within an established company.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering or Construction degree preferred.
• CSCS card & SMSTS are desirable; First Aid beneficial.
• Experience on sub & superstructures, RC frames and basements.
• Aspiring towards progression into Project Management.
• Growth minded and hungry for development within the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Site Engineers on site.
• Oversee materials and plant selection and requisition.
• Carry out and record quality inspections.
• Utilise Fieldview/Viewpoint/Topcon on projects.
• Review drawings and RFIs (requests for information).
• Provide support to PM and wider construction teams.
• Coordinate temporary works designs and issue permits.
• Resolve unexpected technical difficulties on site.

Spearheading the JRL Group from the outset J Reddington Ltd have been an industry leading groundwork and concrete (RC) frame specialist for over two decades. Building on a proven track record to date, the company is now increasingly being called upon to deliver solutions on larger projects Nationally.

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a Senior Engineer with RC Frame experience to join us on our latest project in the city; a major, 46 storey project.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage & lead a team of Site Engineers.
• Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
• Carry out and record quality inspections.
• Use digital / web platforms ie. Fieldview, Viewpoint for projects, Topcon magnetic field / office.
• Drawing interrogation and RFI’s (request for information).
• Provide support to the PM & wider construction teams.
• Carry out the role of a Temporary Works Coordinator, coordinating temporary works designs and issuing permits.
• Find solutions to any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Requirements:

• Civil Engineering or Construction related degree qualified would be ideal.
• Hold a valid CSCS card & SMSTS, 1st Aid is beneficial not compulsory.
• Ability to demonstrate having previously worked on sub & superstructures packages, in particular concrete / RC frame structures & basements.
• Ideally have aspirations of progressing into a Project Management role.
• Be hungry for growth within the business.
