Job summary

JRL Group in Tyseley, United Kingdom, is seeking a capable Site Engineer to lead a team on demanding construction projects. You will coordinate temporary works and manage material and plant selections to keep sites safe and on schedule.

You will draw on solid communication skills, hands-on problem solving, RFIs, and collaboration with the PM and wider teams. A Civil Engineering or Construction-related degree is ideal, with a valid CSCS card and SMSTS preferred.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering or Construction degree preferred.
• Experience coordinating site activities and temporary works is a plus.
• CSCS card and SMSTS preferred; First Aid is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Site Engineers and coordinate day-to-day site activities.
• Oversee materials and plant selection and requisition.
• Carry out quality inspections and document results.
• Handle RFIs and support PM and wider construction teams.
• Coordinate temporary works designs and issue permits.
• Work with digital platforms for project delivery.
• Contribute to ongoing site problem solving and progression of projects.

Job description

• Manage & lead a team of Site Engineers.
• Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
• Carry out and record quality inspections.
• Use digital / web platforms ie. Fieldview, Viewpoint for projects, Topcon magnetic field / office.
• Drawing interrogation and RFI s (request for information).
• Provide support to the PM & wider construction teams.
• Carry out the role of a Temporary Works Coordinator, coordinating temporary works designs and issuing permits.
• Find solutions to any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise. Civil Engineering or Construction related degree qualified would be ideal.
• Excellent communicator.
• Hold a valid CSCS card & SMSTS, 1st Aid is beneficial not compulsory.
• Ability to demonstrate having previously worked on sub & superstructures packages, in particular concrete / RC frame structures & basements.
• Ideally have aspirations of progressing into a Project Management role.
