The role emphasizes robust design, cross-platform performance, and collaboration with gameplay and engine teams to push the envelope of real-time content delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ skills for low-level engine systems and tooling.
• Experience creating and maintaining APIs with backward compatibility.
• Ability to apply code design patterns in live environments to reduce maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills to find solutions beyond established approaches.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate to define deliverables.
• Experience with multiple programming languages and leveraging their strengths.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience writing performant code for multiple hardware platforms, including consoles.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement low-level engine systems across platforms, focusing on robustness and performance.
• Re-architect Unreal Engine to support on-demand content delivery at a granular level.
• Own design, development, and delivery of complex features in a live game product.
• Integrate multiple engine subsystems for maintainable solutions.
• Design stable APIs exposing engine capabilities to gameplay layers both internally and externally.
• Collaborate with core engine and gameplay teams to meet evolving needs.
• Drive technical excellence across platforms including debugging, maintenance, and optimization.
