Cast Iron Games in Tileyard North is looking for a Senior Engine Programmer to own core engine systems, improve performance, and build scalable tools. You will collaborate across engineering, design, art, and production, mentoring junior developers and helping shape long-term architecture.

You will work on memory management, multithreading, and platform support, contributing to high-quality, cross-platform games in a calm, collaborative environment with no crunch.

Qualifications

• Proven C++ experience in large game codebases.
• Strong memory management and multithreading knowledge.
• Experience profiling and debugging complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain core engine systems.
• Improve engine performance, memory usage, scalability, and stability.
• Develop tools and workflows to boost team productivity.
• Collaborate across memory, threading, IO, streaming, asset management and platform support.
• Debug complex technical issues across large codebases.
• Mentor junior and mid-level programmers.
