Job summary

Nero Energy Ltd is seeking an experienced client-side Project Manager to deliver energy and estates management projects across the North of England, with occasional Midlands and the South. You will run a fee-earning portfolio, lead the project coordination team, and ensure projects are defined, tendered, delivered to programme, budget and quality, and profitable for Nero.

The role requires a strong track record in construction/estates projects, CDM 2015 and JCT experience, and a UK driving

Qualifications

• Experience delivering construction, building services or estates projects, ideally renewables, decarbonisation or work on occupied buildings such as schools.
• Site inspection and defects management experience.
• Working knowledge of JCT contracts and CDM 2015.
• Experience leading or supervising others.
• Ability to run several projects at once and know when to escalate.
• Clear communication with clients, contractors and non-technical stakeholders.
• Membership of a professional body such as APM, CIOB, CIBSE or RICS.
• Heat loss calculations (BS EN 12831) and heat pump system design.
• Experience of education or public sector estates, such as CIF projects, condition surveys or planned maintenance programmes.
• Site safety training such as SMSTS or SSSTS

Responsibilities

• Lead energy and estates projects from feasibility through tender, construction and handover, coordinating designers, surveyors, contractors, the DNO and client teams.
• Turn energy data, condition surveys and compliance findings into prioritised, fundable programmes of work.
• Prepare scopes of works and tender documents, and evaluate contractor bids.
• Act as or support the Employer's Agent or Contract Administrator under JCT Design and Build contracts
• Manage programme, cost, risk and change, and report to clients, funders and the Directors
• Inspect work on site, manage defects and ensure handover and operating information is complete
• Support clients in meeting CDM 2015 duties
• Lead the project coordination team and allocate work across the portfolio
• Prepare fee proposals and track fees against budget
• Spot further project opportunities and pass them to the sales team
