Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is assisting with the recruitment of a Senior Energy Consultant for a Wilmslow-based role focused on Low Energy Building Design. You will lead the design team, drive RIBA stages 1–4, support building services, and aid in project delivery from early design to construction.

You will mentor junior consultants, apply knowledge of energy modelling standards, and contribute to business-wide technical system improvements in a hybrid, city-centre setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Low Energy Building Design / Energy Consulting within the building sector.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior position.
• Member of a recognised professional body (or working towards membership).
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental or Sustainability Related Degree or suitable qualifications.
• Knowledge in Domestic and Commercial Building Energy Models, BREEAM Certification, Dynamic Energy Modelling, and PassivHaus Principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Low Energy Building Design Team and define the strategy for low energy building design.
• Complete and update Low Energy Building Design (RIBA 1-4).
• Support the Building Services Design process (RIBA 1-4) and the Building Services team.
• Assist in the construction process (RIBA 5-6) and project management teams.
• Mentor junior, graduate, and placement energy consultants.
• Provide expert knowledge in Low Energy Building Design.
• Develop and improve technical systems within the business.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with clients, suppliers, and experts.
• Review and appraise Low Energy Building Consultants & Contractors.

Senior Energy Consultant (Low Energy Buildings)

• Annual Salary: Up to 50,000 (Depending on experience)
• Total Compensation Package: Up to 57,500
• Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire
• Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (2 days WFH / 3 days office-based)

You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of projects and driving our vision of meeting the UK's 2050 Net Zero Carbon Targets for Buildings. This role is based in the heart of Wilmslow town centre and offers a chance to significantly contribute to the growth of our consultancy.

Day-to-day of the role
