Job summary

Mantis Ltd is seeking a Senior Energy Consultant to lead the Low Energy Building Design Team in delivering energy-efficient solutions for domestic, commercial and public sector buildings. The role focuses on high-quality energy consultancy, client engagement and cross-team collaboration in a hybrid Wilmslow/Manchester setting.

You will drive energy modelling, Part L/Part O calculations, and decarbonisation planning while supporting project delivery and staff development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Low Energy Building Design / Energy Consulting within the building sector
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior position
• Member of a recognised professional body (or working towards membership)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental or Sustainability Related Field (or suitable qualifications)

Responsibilities

• Taking a leading role in the Low Energy Building Design Team
• Defining and updating Low Energy Building Design strategy
• Completing Low Energy Building Design (RIBA 1-4)
• Supporting the Building Services Design process (RIBA 1-4) and Building Services team
• Supporting the construction process (RIBA 5-6) and project management teams
• Acting as a mentor for junior, graduate and placement energy consultants
• Providing subject matter expert knowledge in Low Energy Building Design
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and experts.

Job description

At Mantis we are looking for someone highly driven, ambitious and technically sharp who is ready to play a key role in delivering low energy building solutions.

As our Senior Energy Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects while helping drive our shared vision of meeting the UK’s 2050 Net Zero Carbon Targets for Buildings.

As Senior Energy Consultant, you will become an integral part of a friendly and dynamic consultancy based in the heart of Wilmslow town centre and will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

The role will primarily focus on delivering building services design and low energy consultancy within the Low Energy Building Team

This role is about ownership: delivering high quality energy consultancy services, working closely with clients and our other teams, and a key role in the successful delivery of projects across domestic, commercial and public sector buildings.

Typically, your team projects will cover: Energy Calculations (Part L), Air Pressure Testing, Dynamic Energy Modelling (Part L and Part O), Heat Loss Calculations, Thermal Bridging Calculations, PAS 2035 Retrofit Design & Coordination, PassivHaus Design, Heat Decarbonisation Planning and Project Management Support Activities. You will develop your existing knowledge and skills in energy modelling and assist with the development of energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings.

• Total Compensation Package: Up to £57,500
• Salary up to £50,000 (Depending on experience)

• Specialist Survey Experience: Damp Proof Surveying, Thermal Imaging Assessments

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED:

• Member of a recognised professional body (or working towards membership).
