Job summary

Rutherford Briant in Reading is seeking an Employment Tax Manager to join a growing tax advisory team. You will lead employment tax advisory and transactions for a diverse client base, building strong relationships and delivering practical guidance.

The role offers hybrid working, exposure to client advisory, compliance work, and opportunities to develop the service with senior colleagues. ATT/CTA or ACA/ACCA qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK employment tax within an accounting firm or advisory setting.
• ATT and/or CTA preferred; ACA/ACCA acceptable with strong employment tax experience.
• Ability to translate complex tax issues into practical guidance.
• Strong client relationship management and advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients across a broad range of UK employment tax matters, including PAYE, National Insurance, benefits, salary sacrifice, employment status and off-payroll working.
• Support clients with transaction-related employment tax matters, employee incentives and share-based reward arrangements.
• Manage a combination of advisory projects and recurring compliance work.
• Build strong client relationships and become a trusted point of contact.
• Work closely with colleagues across tax, corporate finance and wider advisory services.
• Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and contribute to the growth of the service.
• Review work, share technical knowledge and support the development of junior colleagues.
• Monitor legislative developments and explain their practical implications to clients.
