Job summary

Make UK is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join as Senior Legal Adviser in the North of England, supporting a portfolio of members with pragmatic employment law advice.

You will manage Employment Tribunal work from start to finish, draft contracts and policies, and present seminars on employment topics.

The role is home-based with occasional attendance at North offices (Warrington/Sheffield); it offers a competitive salary and benefits including flexible working.

Qualifications

• Substantial PQE in employment law.
• Experience advising clients on employment law, ER and HR matters.
• Proven track record in handling tribunal cases with minimal supervision.
• Advocacy experience in Employment Tribunals is an advantage.
• Ability to provide practical, commercial employment law advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and timely employment law and employee relations advice via meetings, calls and written correspondence.
• Manage Employment Tribunal litigation from start to finish, including advocacy (training available).
• Draft and scrutinize contracts of employment, policies, procedures, and other employment-related documents.
• Present engaging seminars on employment law and employee relations topics.
• Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge through continuous research and training.
• Collaborate with other business units to support member recruitment and retention.
• Identify opportunities for additional fee-paying work for Make UK.
