Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to lead a high-quality ER service across the Trust. You’ll provide expert advice on employment law, NHS policy, and best practice, supporting managers to resolve workforce issues effectively.

Reporting to the People & Culture Directorate, you will develop management capability, build relationships with Trade Union representatives, and guide service improvements to ensure consistent, compliant

Qualifications

• Senior employee relations or HR advisory experience.
• Experience managing complex ER casework.
• Experience providing ER advice within the NHS or public sector.
• Experience of MHPS and medical workforce ER matters.
• Experience managing and developing staff.
• Excellent knowledge of employment law, workforce policy and ER best practice.
• Strong influencing, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex employee relations cases (discipline, grievance, attendance, capability, performance).
• Provide expert advice to managers on employment law, NHS policy and best practice.
• Guide MHPS and medical workforce ER matters.
• Develop management capability through training, coaching and early intervention.
• Build relationships with Trade Union representatives and stakeholders.
• Lead service improvement initiatives; develop ER policies, procedures and guidance.
• Manage and develop the Employee Relations Team to deliver a consistent, high-quality service.
