Job summary

SeeMeHired is seeking a confident Employee Relations specialist to lead complex ER across the Port of Tilbury in a highly unionised, safety-critical environment.

You will partner with managers to balance employment law, procedures and operational needs, while building strong relationships with trade unions and supporting organisational change. This is a fully onsite role requiring UK working rights and driving licence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in employee relations within a unionised, safety-critical setting.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and practical application in complex cases.
• Proven ability to lead high-volume ER casework from assessment to conclusion.
• Experience supporting collective bargaining and union relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high volume of complex ER cases across disciplinary, grievance, absence, redundancy and change matters.
• Set case strategy, manage risk, and ensure investigations and hearings are well documented.
• Interpret policies and provide practical guidance to managers on employment law.
• Coordinate quarterly union meetings and support collective bargaining activities.
• Provide ER insights and workforce data to inform decisions and change initiatives.
• Contribute to HR projects, change programmes and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate HR records, payroll changes and compliance with audits.
