Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a forward-thinking public sector organisation as a Senior Employee Relations Advisor. In this dynamic and flexible role, you’ll play a key part in supporting fair and consistent people management by advising on complex employee relations issues, from disciplinary and grievance cases to investigations and policy development. You’ll work within a supportive and collaborative HR team, with the chance to influence culture, promote best practice, and make a meaningful impact across the organisation. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to managers on a wide range of complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, and capability cases.
  • Apply up-to-date employment law, HR policies, and best practice guidance to support fair and timely resolution of cases.
  • Promote a culture of fairness and transparency through the use of restorative and Just Culture principles.
  • Support investigations and ensure robust and consistent documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation, offering clear, practical and solutions-focused advice.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation and organisational priorities.
Essential
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a HR advisory role, managing complex ER cases with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting formal investigations and advising managers with confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and advise persuasively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Confident using electronic HR systems and generating reports.
  • NHS Experience.
